RRC Porter Discusses Importance of Engineering Education to Texas’ Oil and Gas Industry

AUSTIN-Railroad Commissioner David Porter today addressed the American Association of Drilling Engineers-University of Texas Chapter. Commissioner Porter discussed the importance engineering education plays in providing the workforce necessary for Texas’ oil and gas industry.

“Our state is blessed with an abundance of natural resources, but we are not the nation’s leading energy producing just because of our geology,” Commissioner Porter said. “Technical education along with the Railroad Commission’s balanced, fair and consistent regulation is vital to our state’s continuing success in leading the nation in innovative ways to produce energy.”
