Railroad Commissioner David Porter Discusses the Importance of Public Service at Brentwood Christian School Career Day


AUSTIN-Railroad Commissioner David Porter today spoke to high school students at the Brentwood Christian School Career Day in Austin. Commissioner Porter shared with students the value of public service as a possible career path and the impact they can have on their communities.

“Making public service a foundational part of your life, whether through a career or volunteerism in your community, will be among the most rewarding things you can do in your lives,” Porter said.  “It is the highest honor of my professional life to serve the great state of Texas and my fellow citizens as a Railroad Commissioner, where every day I can play a critical role in protecting public safety and our natural resources, while maintaining a strong and stable regulatory environment for the oil and gas industry to help our economy grow and create job opportunities for Texans.”
