Railroad Commission Chairman David Porter’s Statement on EPA’s Actions to Cut Methane Emissions

Austin – The following statement can be attributed to Texas Railroad Commission Chairman David Porter on EPA's action to cut methane emissions:

“Like the Clean Power Plan, these burdensome rules will be used by the EPA as a weapon in President Obama’s war on fossil fuels,” Porter said. “These excessive regulations are another blatant attack on the oil and gas industry that will further impede America’s energy security, kill jobs and put even more stress on our national and state economies.”

Texas Railroad Commission Chairman David Porter was elected statewide by the people of Texas to serve as a member of the Commission in November 2010. A Certified Public Accountant and successful small business owner, Chairman Porter has worked with oil and gas producers for nearly three decades providing strategic financial advice and tax counsel. He is the senior member of the Commission with a proven record of principle-driven, free market conservative leadership.
