Commissioner David Porter Applauds Passage of Proposition 6

AUSTIN- The following statement may be attributed to Texas Railroad Commissioner David Porter regarding the passage of Proposition 6:

“I believe securing a dedicated revenue stream to fund water projects is one of the single most important actions we can take in securing the economic prosperity of the state of Texas,” Porter said. “Texas’ tremendous population growth, which is expected to nearly double by 2060, combined with severe drought conditions, has put significant strain on our existing water supply and infrastructure. I applaud the voters for approving this one-time, fiscally disciplined investment that will bolster our robust economy against the costly impact of drought and provide a reliable water supply for future generations.”

David J. Porter was elected to the Texas Railroad Commission on November 2, 2010. A Certified Public Accountant and successful small business owner, Commissioner Porter has worked with oil and gas producers for nearly three decades providing strategic financial advice and tax counsel. He has a long record of pro-business, free market, conservative credentials.
