Military Fee Exemption Now Available for Alternative Fuels Certification and Licensing
Now in Texas, military service members, veterans and military spouses seeking to obtain certification and company licensing to work with alternative fuels, including Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG, Propane, Butane), can receive a military fee exemption and will not be required pay to take examinations or obtain exempt registrations and licenses.
To apply for the military fee exemption, an applicant must complete and submit to the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) an Application for Military Fee Exemption. The application should be submitted prior to registration for examinations and submission of applications for company licensing. The CNG Form 1035, LNG Form 2035 and LPG Form 35 are available for download from the RRC website.
The military fee exemption, which is in accordance with Senate Bill 807 (84th Legislative Session, 2015) and 16 Texas Administrative Code §§9.14, 13.76, and 14.2014, does not apply to renewal fees for examinations, exempt registrations or licenses.
