The Railroad Commission of Texas will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 22 through Friday, Nov. 24 in observance of Thanksgiving. The RRC will reopen for regular business Monday morning, Nov. 27. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.
Training Requirements, Classes and Exams
The following links are useful for determining what training requirements are in place, checking due dates on continuing education requirements, determining when classes are available, registering for a class, determining AFT requirements and learning how to become an Outside Instructor. Classes and examinations are held year-round in all regions of Texas. The Alternative Fuels Safety (AFS) department’s 8-hour classes are FREE for RRC certificate holders who have paid the annual renewal fee. The fee for an 8-hour class is $75 per person for new applicants' first-year training class and for uncertified individuals, including those whose certificates have expired.
CLASSES: Pre-registration is required for all classes at least 7 calendar days prior to the scheduled class. Classes may be canceled up to 7 days prior to the scheduled class. All classes begin at 8 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. unless otherwise noted. REGISTER NOW
EXAMINATIONS: Walk-in exams are offered every business day from 8 a.m. to Noon at 6506 Bolm Road in Austin. Pre-registration is required for all examinations given outside Austin. Please register at least 7 business days prior to the date you intend to take an examination. Examinations scheduled outside Austin may be canceled up to 7 business days before the scheduled examination.REGISTER NOW
