RRC Hosts Pipeline Fee Workshop November 28
The Railroad Commission of Texas (Commission) is hosting a Pipeline Fee Workshop regarding creation of a pipeline safety and regulatory fee, pursuant to the Commission's Sunset Bill, House Bill 1818 (HB 1818, 85th Legislature, Regular Session, 2017). The workshop will be held at the Commission’s headquarters from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in Room 1-100 of the William B. Travis Building at 1701 N. Congress in Austin.

HB 1818 amended §81.071 of the Natural Resources Code to authorize the Commission to establish pipeline safety and regulatory fees for permits or registrations for pipelines under the Commission’s jurisdiction. Fee amounts should be sufficient to support the Commission’s pipeline safety and regulatory program costs including permitting or registration costs, administrative costs, and salary costs.
The RRC is accepting comments on rule amendments to 16 Texas Administrative Code §3.70 in conjunction to the creation of the pipeline safety and regulatory fee.
